Best Tourist Places in Juneau

This little coastal town can only be accessed by sea or air since it is situated in the southernmost part of the Panhandle state, a small, narrow, fjord-like tongue of land. The sea buffers it with a string of tiny islands. Despite its remote location, Juneau also visits visitors and curious adventurers for its wide variety of natural and community attractions. To plan a trip to Juneau, contact Alaska airlines reservations or visit the Alaska airlines official website.

Mendenhall Glacier

There is an entirely panoramic view just 12 miles from Juneau city center. The Nugget Falls large stretches to a pool of icebergs and down into the edge of the sea, the Mendenhall glacier’s tongue. The Juneau Icefield, which occupies more than 1,500 square miles of land extends into British Columbia, feeds the glacier about 13 miles in length.

An excellent place to begin your tour is the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, which provides a 180-degree view of the glacier.

Tracy Arm Fjord

This ice-packed glacial fjord, located south-east of Juneau, intersects with a stunning panorama of waterfalls crashing down vertical rocky walls and glaciers tanning blocks of ice to form small mountains. At the top of the fjord are the imposing twin Sawyer Glaciers; their noticeable blue ice is particularly stunning. You can hear about Tracy Arm’s natural history, glaciers, and wildlife by a guided cruise.

In almost the right way, the massive walls of the Tracy Arm Fjord lift from the sea. The fjord is long and reaches into the continent through the National Forest of Tongass.
