Chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage 

A chemical pregnancy is an early miscarriage that happens before you actually see an embryo through an ultrasound (before you actually see the heartbeat). This chemical miscarriage usually happens before 6 weeks. In this case, your egg has already been fertilised which pushes the body to produce the pregnancy hormone HCG. the HCG levels in your body are present and giving you the positive pregnancy test but something is going wrong. It could be a number of different issues that are generally pretty easy to pinpoint. Maybe it happens because of some chromosomal abnormalities or it could be just a fluke deal. 

Clinical miscarriage 

A clinical miscarriage will give you all the clinical signs that will be a proof of your pregnancy but in reality you won’t be pregnant. You will come across positive pregnancy tests, you will also miss your following periods, also you can see the fetal sac during an ultrasound but all these evidence will ultimately lead you with infertility. So in a clinical miscarriage, you won’t have anything which will be considered as chemical. 

Early Miscarriage 

The early pregnancy loss can be defined as loss during the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. It can be either intentional or unintentional. There are many causes of an unintentional early pregnancy loss. Around 50% of the time it is due to chromosomal, whether be micro deletions, deletions or an unexplained chromosomal anomaly that may occur. Other causes being alcoholic abuse, drug abuse, excessive caffeine intake, smoking, malnutrition, abnormal implantation of the fetus and also advanced maternal age.

Late Miscarriage 

Most miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy but those that occur in the second trimester, which is between 14 and 24 weeks are known as late miscarriages. A late miscarriage is rare. It happens to 1 in 100 pregnant women. The common symptoms are frequent labour like cramps and bleeding, light or heavy bleeding with blood clots, water breaking, lack of movement in the uterus. Late miscarriage happens when you have a weak placenta and early opening or dilation of the cervix. Another reason is when you have uncontrolled diabetes, kidney problems, high blood pressure, thyroid or celiac disease. 

Primary Miscarriage 

Primary miscarriage occurs in the first pregnancy. If you have had primary miscarriage that doesn’t mean you will have another the next time. 

Secondary Miscarriage 

Secondary miscarriage takes place when you delivers a child before your miscarriage. 

Sporadic Miscarriage 

This is the first miscarriage that you experience irrespective of the birth of your child. 

Repeat Miscarriage 

If you have multiple miscarriages, it is referred as repeat pregnancy loss. 

Complete Miscarriage 

A complete miscarriage is defined when you have completed the entire process of your pregnancy loss condition. This is followed by a heavy or light bleeding as well as the discharge of the fetal tissue from the uterus. 

Incomplete Miscarriage 

When your body isn’t able to pass the fetus through your uterus, an incomplete miscarriage takes place. In such cases, a minor surgery is needed to expel it so that everything is removed.

This is the condition when you develop two embryos initially but then slowly because of many factors, one of the embryo starts to diminish slowly and the fetus dies slowly. However, the living fetus will continue to grow just like a normal pregnancy. The reason for such miscarriage could be because of any genetic flaws that hinders the normal growth of the fetus. 

Missed Miscarriage 

This could be the most heartbreaking scene a woman has to grow through. In this case, you would not feel anything like miscarriage. It seems like everything is fine until you have a routine appointments and the doctor will reveal that the baby’s heart isn’t beating. 

Blighted Ovum Miscarriage 

This is a medical condition where the fetus will never develop a heartbeat.
